Wood Norton war memorial

Wood Norton war memorial

I’ve been spending a lot of my time recently working on the heritage project for Wood Norton, the North Norfolk village where I live.

Finding out about the servicemen whose names appear on our War Memorial is fascinating, piecing together the stories of their lives, and trying to imagine what is must have been like for the families of these soldiers and sailors.  It must have been difficult for the families of young men from this small rural community, and particularly so for those families whose young men didn’t come back.

I publish the results of our research on our village website – check it out to see the progress that we have made.
